Years are swallowed by hungry thieves;
days and hours soar away unseen;
minutes and seconds fall into deep holes;
moments are what we are meant to hold.
Moments come as flashing lights,
but then disappear deep into the night.
Hold on to each passing butterfly,
and forever shine the beauty of life.
A moment says “Hi!” with a smile;
it sees the color of a stranger’s eyes;
it embraces life in passionate grace,
or, if allowed, it takes that same life away.
This world is a shadow,
made with the dust of time.
We are mere mortals, but
it’s in moments where we change lives.
